April 2012
Dear prayer and financial supporters,
We are always grateful for you and your partner relationship with us. Please pray for perserverance for us as we are here in the US, as we share our vision and goals for prayer and financial partnership for our church planting ministry in Kobe, Japan.
Clive and Maya Cowell continue to faithfully hold the fort well in Kobe, Japan while we are on Home Assignment here in the US. We feel they are being used deeply by GOD to touch lives, and to tell the Good News of Jesus Christ. Please read an exciting email we recieved from them last week:
"We had an exciting Suday last week. At first no one turned up. Mr. C was in another country and at 9:35am no one was there. Then Y-kun turned up. At 9:45, Mrs. H and her children showed up. Mrs. Y turned up on her own. Then almost a minute or two later Mrs. T. and Mrs. T. showed up. Then Mr.C. called from overseas and soon we were using Skype. Mr. C. was listening to English and Japanese on our end and translating into Chinese AND a local Chinese dialect for a 90 year old neighbor. The neighbor sang two Christian songs. It was very moving. Mr. C. made our Lord very proud. So, at the end of it, it was quite a dynamic response to our Lord after what I thought would be a very small gathering."
Jessica finishes her freshman year at the University of Richmond at the end of April. She is growing in Bible knowledge, faith in GOD, and making wonderful Christian friends. Jessi is doing well in her studies. She is missed! PRAY: For Jessi to guard her daily devotion times in the Bible, praying to God, and finish classes and exams strong this month.
Jenni rides the bus to school each day, enjoys the ethnic diversity of her classmates (50+ countries represented), likes her anatomy and physiology class, and works hard in her English class. PRAY: for Jenni to guard her daily devotion times in the Bible, praying to GOd, and to be a good Christian friend.
Satomi has finished translating her practical ministry book into JApanese. This book can have a deep influence of practical help, and handbook for women's ministry in Japan. Most of the Christians in Japan are women and many are married to husbands who do not share their faith in the Bible. Ktichen Table Counseling can also bring hope, guidance, and righteous living to many women in Japan. PRAY: for Satomi for mental strength. consentration and knowledge to accurately translate from English to Japanese.
