COVID-19 Plan for Holding Worship Services in Phase 2
All employees, members and visitors in attendance at service shall be asked to wear face coverings before, during, and after the service unless otherwise recommended by their healthcare provider. The leader up front will be permitted to remove face covering to deliver the message or lead in singing provided they are at least 20 feet from the congregation.
On-Location Physical Distancing
Current meeting size of 50 (25% of occupancy) not including staff shall be observed.
Public access should be through the main entrances only.
Everyone in attendance shall be asked to avoid direct physical contact with those not in their family.
Social distancing of 6 feet will be encouraged and made possible by seating arrangement.
Hygiene and Sanitation
COVID-19 Safety information and posters , such as DOH, CDC and OSHA, shall be visibly posted.
Communion elements will be commercially prepackaged in individual servings and made available without communal plates.
Only two people in the rest room at a time. Signs will be posted.
Soap and water will be provided at two sinks in each rest room.
Hand sanitizer and tissues will be provided as well as trash cans.
Surfaces, door handles, handrails and restrooms will be cleaned with soapy water and disinfected before and after each service.
Disinfectants and cleaning supplies will be available for use by employees, volunteers, members and guests.
All employees, volunteers, members and guests will be asked to self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving. All are asked to not attend if they have a temperature at or above 100.4 degrees or other symptoms of COVID-19. Everyone will be asked not to attend if a member of their household has been diagnosed with COVID-19, has a fever of 100.4 or other symptoms.
All employees, volunteers, members and guests will be asked to promptly notify First Evangelical Church if they experience symptoms of COVID-19 or test positive within 14 days of attending the worship service. Incidents should be reported by email to or by phone at 360-695-2525.
If the church receives a notification of someone who has experienced symptoms of COVID-19 or tested positive, the church will do its best to contact everyone who provided their contact information at that service.
In the event of exposure to COVID-19 the church will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to reuse.
